Many of my clients have a Christian/Biblical worldview and they are happy that I share this with them.

I incorporate biblical principles and scripture into my coaching depending on the client.

Here are some of my thoughts on the area of emotional testing which is sometimes critically labeled “new age” by people who lack understanding or experience with the principles.

Biblical Principles and Emotional Testing.

God did not originally design our bodies to house any negative emotions. The bible is full of admonitions regarding how it is very important to avoid fear, bitterness etc. etc.

1 Peter 5:7 Commands us to cast all of our cares and anxiety on God. Not most of them, but all of them.

3 John 1:2 says: “Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.” Your soul is comprised of your mind, will, intellect and emotions. We see here that emotional health is vital part to experiencing God’s best in our life.

Jesus spent His ministry proclaiming the Kingdom of God which is God’s economy or His way of doing and being. Romans 14:17 says that this kingdom is righteousness, peace and joy. So we see that instead of ignoring our emotions as being unspiritual they can be an indication of how well we are connecting to the way God does things.

Most people have an understanding that a lie detector test is simply measuring physiological changes in your body based on whether what you are saying is true or false. Muscle testing also known as applied kinesiology is used by health professionals around the world as a diagnostic tool to help determine effective treatment. In Emotional Testing muscle testing is used to help determine your emotional state, emotional issues, and the progress of clearing these emotions.

Hebrews 5:14 seems to point this out: “…for those whose senses and mental faculties are trained by practice to discriminate and distinguish between what is morally good and noble and what is evil and contrary either to divine or human law.” We see human engineers design machines that can diagnose themselves with simply error messages and handy reset buttons to fix problems simply and easily. The idea that God hasn’t designed my body with at least as many cool features is incomprehensible to me.

Often I have found that emotional testing can be very useful to take more effective action from a spiritual perspective. For example if someone tests out as having an emotion of PRIDE, and this is accurately tested for them as “I’m so messed up not even God can fix me.” This type of insight can be very helpful in making lasting changes. Often people are intellectually unaware of the strong emotional beliefs that are in some ways dominating their lives. Shedding light on these underlying emotional beliefs is very effective. Many Christians have “tried Faith” and been frustrated by the lack of results. Underlying emotional issues such as a strong sense of worthlessness often act to negate many faith confessions that people make. Identifying the limiters to your faith can produce great results.
